This is a replacement tacho for the 900/1000 models. will also fit the Z650 models. Looks like an early Z1 clock with the stop lamp red light in it but is in fact an electronic unit. when you switch the ignition on the needles flick round like a modern bike. Easy to wire in, just having three wires.
Same fittings as the standard tacho.
PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME MODIFICATION OF THE GENUINE CLOCK BRACKET WILL BE REQUIRED - to avoid this - you can purchase our clock bracket
Z650 Z750 Z900 Z1000 (https://www.z-power.co.uk/clock-mounting-bracket)
PLEASE NOTE THESE MAY NOT WORK WITH DYNA COILS
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS: in the headlamp is a brown wire and a brown/white wire, the brown and white goes to the parking light bulb in the headlamp leaving the brown spare...
to this brown you can connect the red wire from the tacho...
there may be a spare earth (black and yellow) in the headlamp where you can fasten the black wire from the tacho to, if not a spare one then just spice it into any of the black/yellow
the long green from the tacho needs a feed from just one of the ignition coils. On the original kawasaki coils it was a green or black..... on some pattern coils it may be yellow or even black? in either case it is the wire that goes to the points lead (not the wire that goes to the red/yellow double live feed connector).
this should do the job. when you turn the ignition on, the tacho needle should go around to the red line and back again
